Can we cover everything up with corrective makeup?
Angioma, varicose veins, vitiligo, psoriasis, rosacea, scars, acne , dermatitis, burns, keloid … we can hide almost everything. Vitiligos on black skin, hyperpigmentation (severe chloasma) or the area around the mouth and the eye are however more difficult to mask. It is also recommended not to apply makeup to oozing outbreaks such as inflammatory eczema or superinfected scars or areas treated with radiotherapy so as not to interfere with the radiation.
What is corrective makeup based on?
The principle is correction by color . A technique that makes it possible to apply little foundation and obtain a light make-up while avoiding the mask effect.
- Green is used to hide the red of rosacea, psoriasis or a recent scar .
- The yellow neutralizes the purple of bruises, varicose veins or bluish circles .
- Beige masks light brown and the shadows of dark circles, but also pigment spots …
How to hide rosacea?
The Rosacea is a condition resulting from dilation of small blood vessels on the cheeks and nose, sometimes on the chin and forehead.
- To smooth the skin relief (especially in case of scales), apply a moisturizing make-up base (not too greasy).
- Take green corrector with the tip of your fingertip and pat the area until the lesion turns gray. If green appears, there is too much product.
- Layer a foundation by applying light pressure, without rubbing, to avoid moving the concealer. Opt for a shade based on yellow pigments (honey, natural …) rather than pink which would only accentuate your rosacea. A hint of transparent powder fixes and absorbs sebum (to be avoided if you have dry skin), a mist of thermal water prolongs its hold.
How to hide vitiligo?
Vitiligo presents more or less depigmented areas of skin , mainly on the face, feet, hands. Corrective makeup makes it possible to eliminate the difference between healthy skin and affected skin.
- Apply a self-tanner to white spots every night for a week.
- Use a lip brush and wipe the edges (with the tip of a cotton swab).
- Thereafter, an application of self-tanner every two nights is sufficient.
- In the morning, apply a compact foundation by patting it on.
Which foundation to choose to hide a skin defect?
The liquid foundation with only 14% pigment is used to cover more of slight defects such as redness or solar few dark spots.
The compact foundation has a high covering power. With 35 to 40% of pigments, it makes it possible to hide more severe imperfections such as vitiligo or very marked rosacea, but also to perfectly unify the complexion.
Can we play sports or bathe with these makeup products?
The products are tested in extreme conditions (bath, perspiration, friction) and formulated to resist water, heat, the passing hours… They do not stain clothes and last all day. When you get out of the water, pat yourself dry without rubbing.
How long does it take to put on makeup?
Five to ten minutes maximum. This corrective makeup should not be restrictive. The objective must be easily achievable and bring pleasure, comfort and well-being beyond the camouflage itself.
