Hello! Today, I would like to tell you about a product that has integrated my evening routine: La Roche Posay Pure Vitamin C Serum. I have received this product by the brand via the Amazon platform, and now I’ve been using it for a few weeks; I wanted to review it for you, especially since I loved this product (and I still love it ^^).

Presentation of La Roche Posay Pure Vitamin C10 Serum
I do not present to you La Roche Posay since I think everyone knows this lab. It is also one of the drugstore brands I turn to most easily and I think I’m not the only one here.
I put below the description of the serum given by the brand:
Lack of radiance, irregular skin grains, day after day, are often linked to skin aging, these concerns particularly concern the sensitive skin.
The latest addition to the La Roche-Posay anti-aging range, PURE VITAMIN C10 restores all its radiance to the skin thanks to a formula perfectly balanced between a benchmark dermatological active ingredient at an active concentration and soothing active ingredients carefully selected to suit the most skin types. sensitive.
Packaging
Like most serums, this one comes in a small glass bottle with a pipette, also made of glass. Quite fragile, therefore, you have to be careful. The glass of the bottle is transparent but orange, to protect the serum from sunlight (vitamin C is not necessarily a stable component).
The bottle contains 30 ml of serum, a classic capacity for this type of product it seems to me.
Composition
As the name suggests, this serum contains 10% pure vitamin C (with ascorbic acid). Vitamin C is a highly prized active ingredient in cosmetics for its anti-oxidant properties, for its action against pigment spots, for its healthy glow effect. It is an asset that I particularly appreciate in fact.
In addition to vitamin C (and of course thermal water from La Roche Posay ), this serum also contains Neurosensin which has a soothing effect on the skin, as well as salicylic acid to refine the skin texture.
As usual in my reviews, I put the INCI composition of the serum below, with the color codes given by the INCI Beauty site.
Aqua / Water • Ascorbic Acid • CyclohexasiLoxane • Glycerin • Alcohol Denat. • Potassium Hydroxide • Polymethylsilsesquioxane • Polysilicone-11 Dimethicone • Propylene Glycol • Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate • C13-14 Isoparaffin • Peg-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate • Sodium Hyaluronate • Adenosine • Poloxamer 338 • Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate • Disodium EDTA • Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid • Caprylyl Glycol • Laureth-7 •Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester • Xanthan Gum • Toluene Sulfonic Acid • Polyacrylamide • Tocopherol • Salicylic Acid • Perfume / Fragrance
La Roche Posay does not claim to give in natural compositions. This is therefore not really surprising. On the other hand, it’s a bit of a shame that there are 4 different kinds of silicone among the first 10 ingredients.
Some Additional Information
- The serum has a recommended duration of use of only 2 months. It is little compared to other products but I imagine it is due to the unstable side of vitamin C.
- If you use the serum in the morning, don’t forget to use sun protection! Vitamin C and the sun go hand in hand.
- Product may gradually change color due to contact with air. Apparently, however, the effectiveness of the product will not change. Moreover, mine has almost always been orange instead of the white that I have seen in other bloggers.
My opinion on La Roche Posay Pure Vitamin C Serum
You saw it in the title and in the introduction, I loved this product and it is now clearly part of my evening routine. Indeed, I decided to apply it in the evening after removing make-up and cleansing because I never think about sun protection during the week (yes I know, it’s bad).
The serum is quite thick, as you can see in some of the photos. It is not liquid like other serums can be. Suddenly, it is easier not to use the pipette but rather to use the product that is outside the pipette.
You must also pay attention to the way you put the pipette back inside the bottle because the product from the outside of the pipette tends to flow outside the bottle (see photo below). It’s a blow to take.
The serum penetrates very quickly (you must not waste time) and does not leave any greasy film I find. I would even say that it leaves a peach skin finish thanks (because?) Of the silicone it contains. I also find that it is not necessarily a component that has its place in a serum. The silicone remains on the surface and since we put a cream afterwards, the effects of this one can be lessened… For me, this is the only negative point of this serum.
First of all, know that I have combination skin and a little sensitive, with very little acne but with imperfections (dilated pores, micro-cysts, pigment spots…).
I have tried other vitamin C serums before and this is the most effective I have used so far (maybe because it is more concentrated?).
In 3 weeks of use, I have already noticed quite significant changes in my skin. I especially saw effects on my cheeks, on which I had the most spots and heterogeneity. Since using this serum my cheeks are much more even, I don’t even need to cover them with foundation! My spots are also gradually diminishing. I hope on the other hand that the unifying side will reach my T zone which is not at the top level. But like I said, I’ve only been using this serum for 3 weeks on a daily basis.
Overall, I find my skin has more radiance(it’s not difficult considering how dull it was…) and that my skin texture is finer, with less relief. And I must say that when I look at myself in a mirror, I have the impression that my skin has not been that good for a long time!
For the anti-aging side, I couldn’t tell you because I don’t really have fine lines or wrinkles. But I imagine that the antioxidant side of vitamin C is beneficial there.
Small Assessment For La Roche Posay Vitamin C serum
I would like to thank La Roche Posay for allowing me to test this serum because I think this Pure Vitamin C10 serum represents my best skincare discovery since the beginning of the year!
I have only been using this product for 3 weeks and have already seen some pretty significant results on the uniformity and radiance of my complexion. So I imagine that the effects will be seen even more over time and I can’t wait to see that! I also think that I will buy it back, perhaps in summer or rather at the end of summer if I have recurring spots. The only small downside that I put concerns the presence of silicone in the composition. It annoys me to have so much in serum but the effectiveness is there so I go over it.
